To the Ends of the Earth

First off... I couldn't be more thankful for you guys. I think yesterday's post really hit home with a lot of you, and I am so appreciative that you took time to comment and share your thoughts. I mean... you really made me feel a bit more sane. And that is hard to do. So seriously... you make blogging the shiz. I love when you feel alone in something, and then you find that so many feel the same way. 'Aint that just how it goes?

Today, I am going to share a gift with you, to show my appreciation for ya. However, if you are already in the know about this guy and already listen to his music, then you probably won't be that impressed with this gift. And for that, I am sorry. However... If you DONT know this guy and you HAVENT heard his music before... then BAM. You've been gifted.

A couple months ago, a good friend of mine shot over a playlist to me, and I found this guy waiting for me on it. He wasn't literally sitting on it.
He was a song on the playlist.

I immediately bought his album, Lonesome Dreams, and fell in love. His music is familiar yet refreshing. His lyrics are haunting. And the whole package is there.

I would highly suggest heading on over to iTunes and grabbing it for yourself. My Favs are 1, 3, and 5, but they are all seriously amazing...

And track 1... Oh man. That song is my heart and my anthem.

And you can listen to the whole album from cover to cover without throwing up. That doesn't happen very much anymore. At least for me.

Lord Huron - She Lit A Fire from Rollo & Grady Sessions on Vimeo.

So go get it and call it a late Christmas gift to yourself. I promise, yourself will be very excited and appreciative to receive it.

Cheers,
Maddie

  2. I live by music. LIVE. It soothes by soul and REALLY helps when I'm down, which is OFTEN during the winter. I'm currently listening to Lana Del Rey (Blue Jeans = AMAZING!) but I'll try this guy out. Thanks!

  5. I already know the band and am STILL impressed by this gift :) I'd like to refer to 2013 "The Year of Our Lord (Huron that is)." I caught them last October in Boston...I'm telling you, this is one band you don't want to miss live. For reals. You can also catch their Tiny Desk concert over at NPR. Music...the gift that keeps on giving :)
