Well... It's official. These puppies are now public.
It has taken me three weeks to settle on some goals for the upcoming year.
Not because I couldn't think of any... but becuase I really am not looking for something casual... I am ready for a serious relationship... the real deal. These goals and me are going steady.
They are legit, and I don't care if you or my parents don't like them.... Becuase we are in love.
Ok... enough of that.
Seriously... Take a gander at what 2012 will bring me... It's pretty scary.
So.... It's going to be a busy year. I hope I have time to post to the blog...
JUST KIDDING. Now that I have gone public, my only hope is your support as I knock some big things off my list year. I will fee a sense of need to finsish this list, because I know that blogland is watching... And becuase I really really really think that everything planned for this year is meaningful and will help me better contribute to the world.
So let's talk about the big ones...
Run a half marathon - I really don't want to do this. But I do. You know what I mean.
Dedicate Myself to Morning Prayer - This one is really exciting and worth it, but so hard to commit to.Not Purchase any 1st Hand Clothing - Say what?!? I honestly don't know where this one came from... but I think it's important for me. I am going to have to be way more intentional about shopping, style, and things that I've really taken for granted. My biggest trial will be ... Target. Ugh.
The thing is... I do feel a need to know where my products are coming from, whose making them, what world conditions I am perpetuating by purchasing without knowledge of who made what. But, on the other hand, I feel so overwhelemed and like there is not enough time during the day to stay on top of all of it! So I figure, if I am simply reusing things that have already been purchased and are already in circulation, I am helping out in some way. Baby steps my friends... Baby steps.
Well that's all I am going to dive into for now... Project # 20 is somethign I have purchased off of Amazon and am very excited to share it with you, when it get's here!
TTYL,

I love you and I admire you, my dear DIL
ReplyDeleteLove your blog sweetie. You have also inspired me to make a list of goals - don't know if I will make them publicly but still...
ReplyDeleteQuestion - what is number 14? Give my love to Burley and hugs to you both.
Aunt Kath
Maddie, I've been praying this week about "fasting" from buying new clothes for a year. I wouldn't say that I've totally committed to it yet, but seeing someone out there who is on the same wavelength is definitely encouraging!
