Hey Guys!
I hope you had a grat weekend.
or great... whichever you prefer.
(funny errors are only funny when shared with others)
With all the craziness last week, I had time to do 1 tiny project in my kitchen. These chairs were SO old and nasty vintage, that when we decided to have friends over for dinner on Thursday, I made myself bust into action and get them updated.
I got increasingly stressed as dinner closed in on us, so Burley made me sit down and think about my actions.
"Sweetheart - Normal 'Let's have so-and-so over for dinner' includes cooking up some dinner, vaccuming the rugs and lighting a few candles.... Not sanding/re-painting/re-apholstering furniture"
Lesson Learned.
But still... look at these awesome chairs that were birthed out of all that sweat!
I think I win in the end.
Wham bam.
That's all I got for you today. Now it's off to the grocery store to prepare for the FEAST!!!
Mrs. Thriftary

LOVE these chairs!! and your whole table setting it's all so cute! Where did you find everything??
ReplyDeleteAw - Thanks so much Laina! The chevron chairs were a free pickup from Craigslist YEARS ago, The larger chairs were a hand-me-down from an awesome coworker, the table runner & pinecone centerpieces I made here (http://thriftary.blogspot.com/2011/10/ready-for-fall.html), the bird salt & pepper shakers were a gift from my MIL, and the apples are just plain ol' apple I put in a bowl from TJ Max.
ReplyDeleteOh yea, and my socks and my seemingly mom jeans are from Target :)
I almost got sad when I saw the pix of tearing apart the chairs... but I was so happy at the end when I saw the result! They look great! Begone, nostalgia! You've inspired me to get to the store as well. Off I go...
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you approve, MIL. For some reason nostalgia didnt cross my mind when I was tearing them apart, but now that you mention it... :)
ReplyDeleteI am treating myself to a starbucks after I hit up pilates and the grocery store. I needed the incentive...
Those chairs look sooo great!!! Did you do them on the same day you had company? And if so, did they dry in time?
ReplyDeleteummm....obsessed. I MIGHT have a little girl crush on you. Can you pls come to my house and show me how to be crafty/thrifty? I could really use you with the Christmas decorations right now...SO not my area. :) xx
ReplyDeleteI do have to say that I think that aqua looks really great on them! And wow, I'm glad that I'm not the only one who decides to do huge projects right down to the wire when guests are coming. I find that I get stuff done that I've been putting off for months when company is coming.
